Your Visioning Template

So far this week we’ve talked about the difference between visioning and visualizing. We’ve also discussed the strengths of both, and when you could best use them to help you become a more masterful creator.
Today we’ll explore a visioning template. As with all processes, let this guide you in a direction that feels best for you.
A LITTLE BACKGROUND
To hear your Inner Wisdom, it’s important to first get into a place of peace, calm and acceptance. You’re not trying to make anything happen. Instead, you want to open yourself up to receive guidance from your Inner Being, the Spirit, or originating source of YOU.
When the mind is busy thinking a lot of thoughts, or when we’re caught in worry or external concerns, we can’t receive a clear message. So this is why all spiritual (and now many scientific) traditions recommend deep breathing to calm the mind. This is why we also start there.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Something to record your experiences, such as a pen and journal or notebook. You can also do this in front of your computer if you like.
- A quiet place where you won’t be interrupted. Remember to turn off the ringer on your phone!
- Some people prefer silence, others like tranquil music playing softly in the background. Do what feels right, or experiment with both.
1. GET READY TO RECEIVE. Close your eyes and go within. Take a few deep breaths. Intend to leave behind any preconceived ideas, and release any worries, problems or frustrations. Focus on your breathing for a few minutes. Relish the quiet, and “feel” the peace. If you find a mantra is helpful, you can use one such as “I am Peace”, or simply “I AM”, or “Spirit Breaths Me”.
2. SET YOUR INTENTION. Open your eyes and write down your objective. What do you want to know? Is it clarity you seek? Do you need help making a decision? Are you setting a goal or
intention? Ask for guidance from your Inner Being, Spirit, which is YOU, with the broader and higher perspective.
3. ASK & RECEIVE. With pen in hand or on your keyboard, ask these 5 questions. Write down whatever comes to you. Don’t censor or edit anything, just allow yourself to receive whatever comes. The order of these questions is designed to help you clarify and
integrate what’s needed to align with your vision. Clarity will expand as you go. Just allow what comes to be, and don’t worry about how you’ll accomplish anything yet. Just allow.
i. From my highest perspective, what is the ideal vision for this (year, project, idea etc.)?
ii. What must I embrace, become or embody to allow this vision to unfold? (Another way to say this is what qualities, ideals or perspectives should I cultivate in order to align with
this goal, project or idea?)
iii. What must be released?
iv. What tools or resources will help me align with this vision?
v. Is there anything else that I need to know now?
4. NOW REVIEW THE ANSWERS YOU RECEIVED. Try to stay out of judgement, and don’t get caught in wondering how all this will enfold. This is what leads to fear and anxiety, which only takes you off your path. Your real work is to trust that it will unfold. For the time being, simply review, stay open, and know that what you need will be revealed to you when you need it.
5. CLOSE YOUR VISIONING SESSION WITH APPRECIATION. Embrace gratitude in your heart for the images, words or impressions received. If you feel unclear, don’t worry. Just be open to the signs that will naturally unfold for you in the days and weeks ahead.
Remember than you can come back at any time to go through this process for greater clarity. Perhaps you’ve received the vision for the upcoming year. You can now use this same
template to help you make decisions, and take right action in support of your vision.
Tomorrow we talk about staying on course!
