We recently talked about shifting from routines to rituals. In so doing, we embrace the sacredness of our own lives, and are able to make more empowering choices. If you missed that message, see the July 2nd post entitled, “Habits, Hobbits and Rituals!”
Anyway, a few days after writing about the importance of rituals, I came across a book titled “The Joy of Ritual” by Barbara Biziou. I was browsing in a nearby library, and naturally had to pick it up!
The following ritual is adapted from a process Barbara writes about called, “Basket of Support”. I thought I’d share it with you. For we can all benefit by acknowledging and sharing support on a regular basis. I’m calling this “Your Basket of Blessings”, because this ritual also reminds us to give and receive appreciation, which is such an energetically transformative practice!
So here is my version, may it lift you to new heights!
~~ Your Basket of Blessings Ritual ~~
PURPOSE: To give and receive support, to raise your vibration by appreciating the countless people and resources who support you, and when you want to feel uplifted!
FREQUENCY: At least once per week, but you may want to consider doing this more often, even daily for the sheer joy of it! This practice only takes a few minutes, yet it can help you create extraordinary shifts in your life! Consider this as something you can put into your toolbox for inspired living!
THE PRACTICE:
1. Get centered with a few minutes of relaxed, conscious breathing. Focus on your heart and allow your mind to be still and at peace. Allow the mental chatter to drift away, and breathe gently into your heart center.
2. Think of all the people, relationships, animals, resources, things and places that you appreciate. Consider who and what supports you on your personal and professional journey. Write down each positive aspect on a small piece of paper. Put these slips of paper in your basket, and place your “Basket of Blessings” somewhere in your office and/or home.
3. Then daily, weekly, or whenever you want to feel supported, or when you want to shift your point of attraction to appreciation (and therefore prosperity) … pull a slip of paper from your very own “Basket of Blessings”. Consciously focus upon that positive aspect
with the intention of sending and feeling love with that person, place, thing or resource.
4) Put the paper back in the basket and go about your day knowing that you are truly loved and supported!
This is a very simple practice that offers us so many benefits. As you focus more upon what is working well for you, you will naturally and easily expand more goodness in your experience. You will also be helping others as you honor their unique contributions as well. So, enjoy!
