What’s in a day? Experiences and memories that can last a lifetime and beyond. For each day is significant and brings with it opportunities for achievement and celebration.
So Friday, April 18th way not at first glance, appear to be a day of historical proportions … but let’s look again.
- Did you know it’s the day Paul Revere made his legendary ride in 1775? With the simple words, “the British are coming” the world was forever changed.
- April 18, 1858 also marks the day of a record breaking, 60-day-long rainfall in Chicago. Yikes! A testament that we can survive and thrive, despite the stuff that is beyond our control.
- The first laundromat opened in 1934 which forever changed the all too common occurrence of washing your dirty linen in public.
- Simon and Schuster published the first crossword puzzle book in 1924. A new pastime was born to expand the mind with word play.
So what history will you make today? For simple choices, pursuits and events that seem insignificant in the present, can have far reaching affects, that literally change history and the way we view our world.
