Yesterday we talked about the differences between visioning and visualization. Should we use both? If so, when is it best to envision, and when is it best to visualize?
There can be a place for both, but it’s almost always best to start with “visioning”. For this process helps you intuit the ideal truth for you. You’re receiving guidance from your highest aspect of Self.
Visioning is an ongoing process that can be used as you set goals, when you desire clarification, or want to envision an ideal outcome for a project.
Visioning can also help you make choices that are aligned with your goals.
Now onto visualizing… which helps you keep the dream alive! It’s a handy tool to motivate, build excitement and expand confidence. These are important attributes from a human perspective, wouldn’t you agree?
The process of visualizing is role playing a positive outcome in your mind’s eye. So this naturally helps you get into the feeling of living what you have envisioned.
Here’s why visualizing can be an valuable tool.
In order to align with your highest vision, you need to grow into it. This requires us to step out of our comfort zone, and cultivate new attributes or resources in order to become what we envision.
This supports the wisdom of the Zen Masters, that is: “Success is not found in what you have achieved, but rather in WHO you have become.”
Goals, desired outcomes, and dreams are always about expansion and growing into what we are inspired to be or do.
So visualization can be used to help you feel comfortable with who you must become, in order to grow into your goal. And this often means shedding some beliefs or habits that no longer serve you, as well as allowing new supportive perspectives to unfold into your
experience.
Although visualizing isn’t necessary from our Spirit’s point of view, it can be a very useful tool from our human perspective.
For example, if you feel frustration or a loss of interest in a project or goal, that is a perfect time to use visioning to gain insight and greater clarity about what you’re experiencing. Go within for guidance. Ask, am I on the right path? What do I need to know now?
So use visioning first for guidance toward your highest and truest path. Then use visualization to help you become that which you seek!
Wednesday we’ll discover a template for visioning.
