One of our greatest soul lessons is to learn to trust that the Universe has a higher plan for us, better than anything we can imagine from our material perspective.
Yet doesn’t this feel contradictory to being a conscious creator? Aren’t we creating our reality with the goals we choose, and the thoughts that we think?
The answer is Yes, we do determine what we’re able to receive and attract. Yet it’s the essence of what we focus upon, that we expand in our experience. When we get caught in “how” a particular goal or desire will materialize, we limit ourselves dramatically. And we slow down, or close ourselves off from receiving what we truly want.
Our soul wants us to trust the Universe, which means that we must learn to give up control of some of the details, and allow the Universe to determine “how” we will receive the experience we seek. The dance between control and letting go, can seem like a difficult distinction, yet it need not be.
Here are some examples of what I mean by the essence of a goal, which is what you truly want, when you pursue a particular experience.
Although two people may want more money, the essence of what they want to experience can be very different. The goal looks the same on the outside, more money, but the purpose is very different. For example, one may desire security, another more freedom, and another may want to play with interesting objects that money can buy. Here’s another example. Let’s look at two people, who both desire a new position. One may be motivated by a desire for greater creative expression and autonomy, while another may want a stronger sense of community, and wants to be of greater service. The underlying motivation is simply a desired experience. One perspective is not better, or less than the other.
Yet if we restrict the Universe by demanding that the desired experience appear in a particular way, we delay our good fortune.
Here’s a good meditation to help you invite greater assistance from the Universe and your Higher Self.
“I trust the Universe to take care of the details of how my goal will materialize. I release all preconceived ideas about how my desire for __________________ will manifest. I am now open and ready to live my life from the wisdom of my Higher Guidance. And so it is!”
