Tools for Your Success: Staying Aligned with Your Dream

May 29th, 2008

WORD COUNT: 380 Brief … Yet Powerful Words

TIME to GROW: * About 1 1/2 MINUTES *

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seemed to work out?  You were frustrated and just wanted it to be so much easier.

This is when it’s really important to resist the temptation to wallow in what’s not working.

There are times when commiserating with a trusted friend does make us feel better. But if we stay there, we keep what we don’t want active in our vibration … in our thinking and therefore, can’t see or attract what we truly desire.

So when faced with “one of those days”, take a deep breath and make a conscious intention to release the frustration. Don’t let problems weigh you down.

Instead, shift your perspective to something that makes you feel better…your last accomplishment, a treasured friend and your greatest goals and dreams. Reach for the best feeling or thought you can find from where you are.

How do you stay aligned with your dreams when you are tripping over issues?

Here are some very simple, yet effective strategies to help you stay aligned with what you truly desire. For most of us, that’s more ease, joy and prosperity.

1. Pause and shift your focus. Appreciate something that really feeds your spirit. Consider your favorite folks, family members and activities. Read a good joke or pet a furry friend.

2. Write your story in your mind’s eye, or use a pen and paper if you’re so moved. Detail the sites, experiences and feelings in your ideal life and business with all of the enthusiasm you can muster.

3. Go for a walk. No really, sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is to get up and move. It clears stagnate energy and releases the emotional bagggage that stays anchored in our bodies when we sit in stuff like frustration for too long. Change your environment, release the sludge and make room for new and empowering emotional energy like hope, humor, optimism and love.

What’s the bottom line? Simply catch yourself when your thoughts and feelings are not supporting you. Then shift your focus to more empowering thoughts and feelings.

For nothing is more important than how you feel! Make that your priority and everything else will fall into place.
