To Visualize or Vision, that is the Question

WORD COUNT: 361 Short, Yet Uplifting Words
TIME to KNOW JOY: * About 90 Seconds *
What is the difference between visualizing and visioning and why should you care?
VISUALIZING: A verb meaning to recall or form mental pictures. You’re projecting an image of a desired outcome, or a goal realized.
VISIONING: Is also a verb, but with a big difference. When you’re visioning you’re receiving guidance from Spirit, your Inner Being. So you’re aligning with the highest ideal of your individual purpose, what I call your True North.
The primary difference lies in where the image comes from.
With visualizing, we’re trying to make something happen from a human perspective, we’re pushing or projecting an idea of what we think we want. And so the image is heavily influenced by “shoulds”, in other words, cultural influences and the collective social
consciousness. It may not be aligned with what we truly are here to be, or do as individuals.
Yet when you’re visioning, you’re “receiving” guidance from a broader perspective. You’re receiving insight from the highest part of yourself, the inner being who knows your best and truest path.
Visioning is a process of allowing yourself to be who you truly are.
We’ll discover more about the process of visioning on Tuesday and throughout the upcoming week.
Until then, consider the differences. Have you been visioning or visualizing?
When we’re in the flow, circumstances line up for us easily, because we’re not trying to control every aspect of the outcome from our limited physical point of view. From the physical perspective, all we can know is what we can see with our eyes, and what we’ve already experienced in the past. This is why it’s so easy to get caught in habits that no longer serve us.
Yet we can step beyond this limited vantage point with visioning and allow our unique personification of Spirit to express itself unhindered. This sure beats getting caught in goals that come from what we think we should want, because it’s what “everyone else” is doing, or because of other people’s expectations.
This is why visioning is so important and always the first step in aligning with who you truly are. And when you know who you are, all things are possible!
