Setting Your September Intentions

TIME to AIM: * About 5 Minutes  *

1. WRITE DOWN YOUR GOAL at the top of a page in a journal, notebook or software program. You may want to use MS Outlook™, because you can use the calendar and task functionality. I prefer to think of tasks as “daily choices”. For it reminds us that we have the freedom and power to create anything within our daily choices!

2. In Outlook or your calendar program, create a new “All Day Event” or “Daily Choices Reminder” that runs from the beginning of the month through the end of the month.  Fill in the blank :

I am now open and ready to receive all of the abundance in my life now. I am aligned with [INSERT YOUR GOAL] !

3. Copy and paste your goal into the Subject Line of the Appointment or Reminder. You can use the NOTES function in the program to track your insights, perspectives and ideas. The key is to find a tool that fits your style, and then use it consistently to help you organize your ideas, insights and strategies. Some people like to transfer ideas to a task or “Choice List”. Others prefer to create an appointment with themselves, or a goal partner to allow
their dreams to unfold.

4. Daily “busyness” can distract you, and keep you locked into creating the same reality over and over again. So, it’s really important to incorporate a ritual that helps you refocus your attention toward your desired outcome. For  whatever you focus upon most WILL EXPAND in your experience.

HERE ARE SOME STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU LIVE INTO YOUR GOAL. Take whatever resonates and then practice it regularly.

- Begin each day with a review of your most important goal. Feel it’s done. Imagine that you’ve accomplished your goal and are enjoying the benefits of your focused effort. This helps you entrain yourself to expect (and therefore create) the best!

- Ask yourself, what will I release or NOT DO today? This helps you release the stuff that adds little value, or it being done from a sense of habit, or avoidance.

- Take a few moments to align with Right Action. Ask your Wise Inner Being, what is the most important thing I can be or do right now to accept and receive [INSERT YOUR GOAL]? Then focus on that first, before email or anything else. If it’s important, you need to place it at the top of your list, especially if your intuition is guiding you in a specific direction!

- Whatever you do, intend that it be done with ease and grace. Expect a positive outcome and make enjoying the journey your top priority. This doesn’t mean avoiding what’s uncomfortable. But when we take action from a sense of obligation, “shoulds” or “have tos”, it’s counterproductive. This type of energy creates a sense of restriction, and when you feel bad, you’re heading “away from”, not toward what you want to expand in your experience.

- Pay attention to how you feel. That’s your best goal-alignment indicator. Anytime you feel a negative emotion, your thoughts are not supporting where you really want to go. Just take a deep breath, let go of the tension and consider the message behind the emotion. What was I thinking just now? What is this telling me? Am I willing to release this, so I can refocus from a more empowering perspective?

- Be kind to yourself and above all, have fun! Whatever we decide to do is meant to be for the joy of it, but sometimes we think action is only a means to an end. That’s when everything feels hard and action becomes “getting it done”… which again is counterproductive.  This sets up a tug of war between what your head wants, and what your heart is willing to do. There’s much wisdom in the expression, do what you love, and love what you do!

- Keep a daily list of appreciation. This helps you focus and therefore expand positive experiences, relationships, prosperity, clarity…

- Track your progress, if it feels good. If it makes you overly focused on what’s not yet done, it’s probably not helping you. The best thing you can do for you and your goals is to see them done. Your work is to allow the material components into your experience.

- Celebrate every positive experience and live your dreams!

Have fun with this process. Make it your own, so it fits your unique preferences.  Leverage affirmations, pictures, inspiring quotes, or copy and paste tips and insights from ‘”The Daily Discovery Series” into your field of vision.

Feel GOOD as YOU DECIDE, BELIEVE and RECEIVE!
