Right Planning
October 5th, 2007To create with ease and grace, we align our actions with our dreams.
When our actions are aligned with our personal success statement … that is we are using our compass and personal mantra … we experience more joy, are 100% alive … we are feeding our spirit as well as our bottom line.
- Right Planning does not have to be extensive or restrictive. In fact, it works best when you consider it part of the creative process.
-
Right Planning ensures right action. It helps you enjoy your journey! It eliminates unnecessary detours and helps you stay on paths that move you toward your desired destination.
- Right planning helps you take the best route as you honor inutition and logic as well as your individual strengths and resources.
- Right Planning first checks, is this goal aligned with my personal success statement? Is this idea worth pursuing or will it take me off course? Is it a distraction or is it aligned with the lifestyle and business I want to create? Once you’ve answered the question – should I do this? you’re ready to move on to the next part of the planning process. This is where you tap your inner wisdom and ask questions like – what is the best route given my current responsibilities, resources and priorities?
- Right Planning is an iterative process. In other words your plan evolves based on your most recent information. Planning is not about being so rigid that you close yourself off to opportunities. A good plan allows for modifications and refinements that naturally appear as you venture forward. New information, resources and help are always unfolding. So, be open to the magic of the universe.
- Plans are divine when they move you forward. That is if they break an idea down into smaller digestible chunks, so you can build momentum and confidence and enjoy the journey as you move forward. If a plan does not move you forward, you may be over-planning, in analysis paralysis, or the goal is not compelling enough, or you are procrastinating, which is often fear in disguise.
- Right Planning doesn’t have to take a lot of time unless you are building a space shuttle. Obviously the more complex or higher the costs or risks associated with your goal, the more detailed the plan may need to be.
If you’re thinking you don’t have the time to plan, but you struggle with turning your dreams into reality, then consider the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, who said … It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.
Right planning helps you bring the dreamer and the doer together.
Enjoy your journey!
