Right Action: Quantum Learning Techniques

May 30th, 2008

WORD COUNT: 499 Brief … Yet Powerful Words

TIME to GROW: * About 2 MINUTES *

As independent professionals we’re inundated with information, trade publications and industry newsletters. So we learn quickly how to zero in on the resources that provide value-rich information, respect our time and present information in an easily digestible manner.

If you’re like me, you love to learn because it helps you provide more value to others, and also for the sheer joy of learning.

As we explore, we expand our concept of what’s possible. We discover new insights and exciting strategies for more joyful living and business ventures.

May this message bring you ideas that expand your concept of what’s possible! You can apply this information to improve the effectiveness of your marketing messages, for your personal development and to better communicate with your valued clients and partners.

Here are 7 ideas adapted from Quantum  Learning: Unleash the Genius in You by Bobbi Deporter, along with some of my own observations and research.

1. Positive emotions lead to ever-expanding brain power, success and self esteem.

2. We best remember information and experiences that have a high emotional charge.

3. Sensory association, especially those that are visual, helps you retain information as does personal importance, repetition and when something is first or last in a sequence.

4. Choose to be an active learner. This helps you minimize obstacles, decrease the likelihood of repeating mistakes and active learners tend to make more money. That’s a nice bonus!

5. As an active learner, look for the wisdom in every situation and use what you learn for your benefit and to help others.

6. Use baroque or music designed for concentration or creativity to help you in your work and exploration. Adding music during strenuous mental work will: relax your muscles, reduce stress, slow down your brainwaves and decrease your blood pressure. I like Steven Halpern and Hemi-Sync from The Monroe institute. You can find more information at http://www.hemi-sync.com if you’re interested.

7. Shift your focus from the problem to the solution. This is called outcome thinking and it transmutes energy-draining problems into energizing goals. To do this, ask:

  • What can I really control?
  • What can I do about this?
  • What will motivate me to act?
  • How will I stay focused and inspired, so I continue to move positively forward?

You can be, do or have absolutely anything you can imagine! Expect the best, believe in yourself and you can not fail!
