Putting your Self first may seem like a selfish act. It runs counter to what we’re usually taught as children.
Yet you can’t give Your Self to others if there’s nothing to give. Your responsibility is first and foremost to take care of your true nature, your hopes and dreams.
I’m not speaking of self-absorption at the expense of others. For nothing positive can come from destructive behavior.
Healthy self-interest means you can actually give more, because you are more. You commit the time and energy to connect with your unique definition of success, and to remain pointed to your “True North.”
So do what you must to be fulfilled, happy and true to your greatest dreams and desires. Care about how you feel, for it defines you, and is the basis for everything that comes into your life.
