“Every problem contains its own answer if you think of the problem merely as a question, an inquiry, and not as an obstruction. Thinking of it this way, keep your mind not on the repetition of the problem, but on the receipt of a definite answer.” ~ Ernest Holmes
This passage may contain some of the most powerful words ever written. For thinking of a problem as a question, forever changes how we view life’s “challenges”, and is a blueprint for solving any dilemma, hurdle, or complication you could ever encounter.
To experience a problem as a question, changes the purpose of a problem, doesn’t it? Indeed, the objective would be very different than the generally accepted definition of a circumstance that we must struggle against, or overcome.
A problem seen as an obstacle, only perpetuates the issue and keeps us apart from the solution we seek. For whatever you believe, will always be true for you.
But, if a problem is a question, then its purpose is not to defeat us. Because a question’s purpose is to provide clarity and wisdom! So from that perspective, an event once perceived as disempowering, becomes a gift.
For confidence flows from clarity, and there’s great power in knowing what you truly want. A problem posed as a question will help you get very clear about your desired destination. So
creating the right map becomes quite simple.
A problem is above all, an opportunity to learn and grow. And who doesn’t love to learn something that will benefit them personally?
The only time something is a real “problem” then, is when we don’t allow the answer to come, because we’re missing the solution that’s embedded within the event we’re resisting.
Who’s ready for a little Q & A?
