Personal Power, Real Influence

WORD COUNT: 275 Tiny, Yet Self-Determining Words
TIME to Excel: * A Tad More than 1 Minute *
True power requires authority, and the willingness to accept responsibility for choices and outcomes.
Is it really possible to control anything, other than our own perspectives and decisions? Can we truly claim responsibility for anyone other than ourselves?
Certainly we can influence others, but ultimately each individual will choose what he or she will be, do, buy or create.
So the only real power is personal, and the most important person to influence is you!
We claim personal power when we stop avoiding the actions that support our biggest dreams. We claim personal power when we refuse to blame circumstances, events or other people for how we feel, or what we don’t yet have. This doesn’t mean that we criticize ourselves for perceived shortcomings! To do so would be pointless, and counterproductive.
Yet you step into real progress, when you remember that it is you who molds your personal and professional reality.
Some may see this perspective as a burden, but it’s actually liberating. For when we declare, “I alone am responsible for my life”, when we accept responsibility for all of it … that’s when we can exercise real influence.
Personal power means that you can change anything you don’t like about your current circumstances. It means that you are in the driver’s seat!
Is this scary? No, for the alternative means being at the mercy of random events, and that is a lot more frightening, don’t you think?
Personal power doesn’t mean being perfect. It just means that we embrace our reality, warts and all!
You friend and partner in empowering perspectives,
