TIME to Greater Well Being: * About 1 Minute *
How are you nurturing your physical being? For the body is the sacred vessel of the soul.
And our bodies love movement, appreciation and positive attention. And just like our inner shifts, our outer shifts don’t have to feel hard.
If you’re like me, you know how easy it is get comfortable in sedentary ways. Yet as we become more present, we begin to recognize what our bodies crave.
Here are a few examples of short and easy body-nurturing practices.
Simple movement, drinking more water, eating slowly and mindfully, gentle massage, luxurious stretches, deep mild breathing, appreciation, swaying, dancing, meditation, affirmations of peace and ease, and short, periodic walks throughout the day can energize and nurture your sacred vessel. Yet none of these revitalizing choices require a large investment in time, or money.
Take a deep breath, close your eyes and tune into your body . How does your sacred vessel want to be nourished? What would feel good right now?
If you’d like to enhance your physical well being, take body nurturing mini-breaks at natural breaking points throughout your day. You can choose one of more of the examples provided, or create your own practices. You can find opportunities upon awakening, in the shower, before or after eating, between meetings, phone calls, or as you travel from one destination to another. When you think about it, we actually have plenty of time to appreciate and care for our sacred vessels!
