Never Done?
February 16th, 2009WORD COUNT: 241 Tiny, Yet Curious Words
TIME to More Ease: About 1 Minute
Don’t you just feel wonderful when you finish a project? That sense of accomplishment is so rewarding. Yet that same list of choices becomes a source of undue stress, if we focus too intently on what remains undone.
If you ever feel buried by what’s “incomplete” or by a long “to do” list, consider this question.
Are we ever really done? The answer of course is no, and thankfully so.
To be forever finished, would leave us without a sense of purpose. Why show up tomorrow… if there’s nothing else we want to experience or learn?
As eternal beings, we’ll always be called toward something more, bigger or brighter. That’s our nature; we are wired to continuously grow and expand. We do this by playing with new ideas, desires, and experiences.
So the next time you feel like something is missing, smile. That’s just a sign that you’re positively perfect! Resist the temptation to get stuck in what’s missing. Instead go where your curiosity leads you.
For that intense desire to grow is the window to your soul, and the sense of incompleteness fuels the joy of new discoveries!
So to struggle less, and feel more ease simply means to “get comfortable being incomplete”!
Imperfect is actually perfect from an eternal perspective, isn’t it?
Your friend and partner in joyous incompleteness … a.k.a. eternal expansion
