Enjoy the Curves!

TIME to Go with the Flow: * 1 Minute *
We’ve all heard that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. That may be true when we can control every possible variable. But life doesn’t always work that way. We can have the best intentions, think we know exactly how we’re going to get there, but then something unexpected happens.
For we live in a fluid universe with endless possibilities. And when we set an intention, the universe tries to help us receive what we desire. We are meant to succeed, but sometimes get in our own way.
Here’s what I mean. If we’re driven by “speed is of the essence”, or a specific route, we may not react well to interruptions, or the inevitable surprises. If we’re fixed on a specific way to get there, we may miss some great opportunities.
This is where “fluid intelligence” comes in. In other words, we hold true to our desired destination, but we don’t get too attached to how we might get there. Certainly create a plan and work the plan, but know that the best plans are flexible.
To quote Publilius Syrus, a first century Latin writer, “It is a bad plan that admits of no modification.” Yet when we are willing to adapt our approach, like water going around a rock in a stream, we are able flow to higher levels of success, with greater ease.
If we stress out, because events aren’t happening in a prescribed manner, we fight against the very current that is designed to help us align with our goals and dreams.
So focus on the desired outcomes, but definitely enjoy the curves!
