Conscious Creation: The Power of Presence
December 17th, 2007
No matter what tools, processes or methods I’ve used to consciously create the life and business I want, nothing takes the place of presence.
When we are fully present, we are alert and attentive to what is happening now. We make mindful choices that are aligned with what we desire. We pay attention to our emotional guidance system, so we can align our thoughts, feelings and actions with our unique definition of success.
When left unguided, our thoughts are usually in the future, in the past or on problems and scarcity. When we’re present, we can consciously guide our thoughts and decisions for greater harmony and attunement with what we truly desire. When we are present, we are able to connect with solutions, ease, prosperity, wisdom, joy or whatever we want more of now.
As staying present is easier said than done, here are five things you can practice to strengthen the power of presence in your life.
1. Use natural breaking points in your day to check in and observe your thoughts, feelings and actions. Are you aligned with what you want to be or create? Natural breaking points are when you stop and end an activity, get off the phone, start or finish an email, go to lunch, answer a question, before making a decision, when you begin or end your work day, or when you brush your teeth.
2. Take your attention away from your thoughts and direct your focus to your body. How do you feel? Are there any areas of tension? If so, get up and stretch or direct healing thoughts and feelings of love to areas of tightness and stress.
3. Focus on your breathing or on the gaps between words. Doing so brings you a feeling of stillness and peace. It only takes a few moments to redirect your focus into the present and to where your true power lies.
4. As you walk about in your office, home or outside, notice your steps and your surroundings. Don’t label or judge, just notice.
5. When venturing out, pause and center yourself as you get into your car. Take a few deep breaths, check in with yourself and your gas gauge. As you start the car, set the intention for a safe and peaceful drive.
Practice being fully present and soon you will find that conscious creation becomes second nature. As you develop the power of presence, aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions with what you truly desire, will flow with greater ease and regularity. It will not be hard, but simply a natural rhythm of your joyous and prosperous life and business!
Practice makes perfect!
