Are your daily choices reflecting how you truly want to live your
life? If you’re not certain, ask yourself- what’s missing in my life right now? What do I want to enjoy more and experience less?
Your answers will tell you what you truly want at a soul level. And once you’ve identified what’s missing, ask yourself – what choices will allow me to expand these missing elements in my experience?
As you evaluate your daily routines, you may find, like most people, that you’re trying to stuff your dreams into the time that’s left over at the end of the day.
And here’s the problem with that approach. We keep creating the
same stuff, because our energy flows where our attention goes. Most people rarely find the time for their heartfelt desires, if they’re in the “put it off until later” trap. Later rarely comes, if you’re focusing the best of your energy on the “have tos” and “shoulds”.
That’s why life often feels hard. We’re following self inflicted responsibilities, instead of allowing our true desires to help us find
a more rewarding way!
And it’s not surprising that we’d put play and pleasure on the back burner, because we’ve all been taught to follow that myth. Think about how the reward always came later… after your homework,
after you ate your vegetables, and all the other “no pain, no gain”
dream-busting practices that led us into over responsibility, and
burnout.
But we don’t have to do that anymore. We can allow our passions to determine how we’ll live our lives.
Let’s start by looking at time as a gift, rather than something that’s creating pressure or scarcity. The beauty of a limited duration is that it helps us choose what really matters. The gift of time is that it forces us to take an honest look at what we really want to experience. Without that concept, it’s too easy to jump from one idea to the next, never making a choice, or anchoring a true desire. And without a compelling dream, life feels empty. So time is actually a great friend to us.
When we commit to a goal or a dream, we give our life meaning
and purpose. And with each liberating choice, we grow in our
understanding of who we want to be. We create who we are with
our decisions, and time helps us focus our attention on what truly
matters!
We only feel pain when we think we have to focus on everyone
and everything else first, or instead of what we truly want.
So give yourself the greatest gift you could ever imagine. Allow
yourself to be led by your dreams, instead of the “have tos’ and
shoulds”.
By focusing first on your true desire, your peace and happiness will
naturally expand, and so too does your ability to uplift and care for
those you love.
So schedule time right now, this instant, and don’t put this off for
another moment. Your personal happiness is worth a few minutes of your time and energy!
When you’re ready, take out a piece of paper or a journal. Turn off the phone and email alerts. Put on some pleasant background music, and get comfortable. Take a few deep, yet gentle cleansing breaths. Breathe in peace, knowingness and bliss. And when you’re feeling calmly focused, write down these questions.
(1) What do I feel is missing in my life right now? What do I want to enjoy more?
And what do I want to experience less?
(2) Am I willing to make different choices in order to create this
new vision of a life well lived? _____
If your answer is no, ask yourself… what am I afraid will happen if I allow myself to follow this dream?
Your answer will tell you what belief you’ll want to release in order
to grow into your soul goal. And once you know what might get in
the way, you can change that counterproductive thought into an
empowering new agreement with yourself.
(3) Now see yourself living into your true desires. What are you
doing? How do you feel? Who’s helping you? Describe your
surroundings.
Allow your imagination the freedom to help you create a thoroughly
rewarding experience. For everything begins in the imagination. As
Albert Einstein once said, your imagination is more important than
knowledge. So embrace the part of yourself that wants to play with
inspiring possibilities, and joyful outcomes! As you do, you’ll gain
greater clarity about what you truly want. And this is important,
because vague desires don’t materialize. The more you can imagine
your dreams fulfilled, the faster you’ll have them.
(4) What will I do today to allow this dream to come into fruition? This step doesn’t have to be big or complex. Yet choosing perspectives and actions that support your heartfelt desires, sends a clear message to the universe that you’re ready to be supported in this area. So write down that step, no matter how small and then take it!
Spend a few minutes every morning imagining the best outcomes in support of your goal or dream.
Affirm: I know what I want at a soul level, and declare that now for
my reality. I am now ready, willing and able to allow this into my
life, and respectfully ask the universe for support. I thankfully and
happily release this, knowing that it is now done, knowing it is
divine perfection. And so it is!
May you feel the joy and well being that are yours now!
