From its Latin root augeo, we find that August is a month of increasing and strengthening. When combined with the natural cycles of the elements in the northern hemisphere, we discover that August can be a grand and magnificent month, if we are conscious of how intense heat can effect the psyche and the human body.

We are called upon to make conscious choices about how we direct the energy of the sun. As always, pay attention to how you feel, noting that we can direct the heat of August into positive passion… or allow it to take us into the negative aspects of anger.

So if you find something that “makes your blood boil”, or feel agitated for no particular reason, it may be that your body is simply feeling the force of the sun’s rays. Regulate the amount of time you spend in direct solar heat.

You may find people have shorter fuses, but you need not be concerned, or affected by another’s choices. For the month of August can also bring forth great progress when you use his energy to fuel your passion!

You know what you want to expand in your experience. So, as you step forth into the month ahead, invite your intuition and intellect to dance together in support of your highest purpose. Open yourself up to divine insights. Trust that even when things are not going precisely as you expected, there’s always a deeper perfection at work. And in time, you’ll be able to see the impeccable unfolding of life’s gifts, which is always for the soul’s highest good.
