Have you ever wondered about your role in the universe, or if what you do makes a lasting difference?
The search for meaning has kept us reaching since the beginning of time.
We search for meaningful work, a more balanced and fulfilling life, and for our unique purpose. We wonder – does what I do matter? We want to know that we make a difference.
The answer of course, is yes, without question. But still we search…without realizing that the very act of living makes a difference, and the truth is so simple that we often keep ourselves apart from the answers we seek.
We believe that enlightenment is only for the gurus who mediate 8 hours a day, who retreat to some mountain top until they get a sudden flash that forever changes them, and gives them divine insight into the meaning of life.
Many of us get caught in the seeking part, and so we never find what we desire, because we believe this state of knowing is only for other people, who are more gifted or special than we are. Yet when we realize that the answers are truly within us and readily available, rather than out there embedded in some ancient secret, that is when we’re able to find the answers we seek.
There’s a Zen saying that says we must seek without seeking. In other words, we must be curious in order to set the wheels of discovery in motion, and then we must also expect to find the answers.
So explore always expecting to find that which you seek.
But we sometimes see our lives as too ordinary. And that’s why we often don’t recognize the countless opportunities we encounter every single day. We are surrounded by opportunities to make a difference, to connect with others in a meaningful way, and to know more joy and fulfillment.
So maybe it’s time to recognize how truly special you are. For every decision you make, and every thought or deed you express as an impact.
Your daily choices matter. And the thoughts you think set everything in motion, and so that’s the place to start. For your beliefs create your reality. They lead to the decisions you make, and the words and deeds you express.
When you choose to become a conscious creator, to embrace the significance of your daily decisions, that is when you begin to truly appreciate your place in the universe.
So how are you exercising your personal power to create the life you truly desire, and to give, as well as receive?
Through your acts and words, you have the power to help yourself and others grow, you have the power to persuade, to educate, inspire, clarify, enlighten, heal old wounds, forgive, learn, build confidence, to uplift others and on, and on we could go.
And you also have the ability within you to experience more joy, fulfillment, appreciation, prosperity, happiness, or whatever you personally want to expand in your life.
Yet that same power can be used to tear yourself or others down. Certainly we would not do this intentionally, but through a lack of awareness, many people experience unnecessary grief in their lives.
Here’s what I mean. On average we think more than 60,000 thoughts per day. That’s a lot of thinking. And how many of those thoughts are constructive? How many lift you up, rather than tear you down? Do you generally expect the best, or are you letting doubt, anger or fear rob you of greater health and happiness?
Is your inner critic in charge, and keeping you trapped in indecision and procrastination? If so, you’re holding yourself apart from your greatest goals and dreams.
If you find yourself thinking, well maybe someday, when this happens, I’ll move forward. That day may never come, because outer circumstances don’t determine your reality. You do.
Whatever you seek, begin by believing that you can have it. You are in charge, not the wounded ego, or the inner critic.
Decide now that You are in charge. This is how you reclaim your personal power, by recognizing that you have the power within you to have whatever you’re inspired to be, do or create.
Believe in yourself! For who’s more worth it than you? No one, that’s who!
So how do we do this when so much of our social consciousness is immersed in thoughts that are pointed toward what’s wrong with the world, or why something won’t work.
Here are Some Tools to Immerse Yourself in Joyfully Empowered Living.
1. DECIDE. Choose what you truly want to experience next, including what you want to give AND receive.
2. STAND IN YOUR OWN LIGHT. Refuse to let habits, other people, or outer circumstances take you off track. We’ll always have the media, advertisers and naysayers trying to tell us what to think, eat or believe. Shut them off. What you think and believe is far more important. What’s good for them, may not be your dream, nor should it be. So pay attention to what you think and feel, and let others have there own opinions. It’s for each of us to decide in our own way.
3. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DAILY CHOICES. How you choose to focus your attention in thought and in the actions you choose, determines what you create. So choose perspectives and actions that are aligned with what you truly want to expand in your experience.
4. CULTIVATE CONSTRUCTIVE THOUGHTS & WORDS. For they have the power to build or destroy.
5. BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND. If the inner citric starts chiming in, talk to yourself as you would your very best friend. Refuse to succumb to thoughts of unworthiness. You are so much more than worthy and we can not give to others if we can’t give to ourselves
first. Practice every day turning toward thoughts that will help you, rather than hold you back.
Self-criticism is simply a habit that many of us formed in early childhood. But it serves no purpose other than to destroy your dreams and goals. So let is go.
6. USE EMPOWERING TOOLS & PRACTICES EVERY DAY. Choose tools and practices that help you make heart felt choices. And use ideas that help you be fully present throughout your day. Doing so helps you make the choices that are aligned with what you truly want to experience. And there are thousands of tools to help you. For example “The Daily Discovery Series” helps you stay focused on empowering perspectives and purposeful living. And there are also affirmations, articles, books, coaches, teachers and energy workers
who are also great helpers.
And an indispensable tool for aligning with your inner wisdom is to make time for stillness, self reflection or meditation to nurture your soul everyday. Every minute helps. Read your favorite spiritual and personal development authors. Find what resonates with you at the moment and surround yourself with stuff that helps you feel good, as you cultivate constructive seeds.
7. EXPECT THE BEST IN EVERY DIRECTION YOU LOOK. Your imagination will help you with this. Your imagination is your personal story teller from your Higher Inner Being helping you play and create in the sandbox of time and space! So see yourself enjoying what you want to create in your imagination.
8. ABOVE ALL, CHOOSE TO ENJOY THE JOURNEY. There may be moments where this feels like an impossible choice. But if you say you’ll always choose to reach for the best perspective that you can from where you are, and mean it… you’ll transform your life in
ways that you can not yet imagine.
We are creating every day with our daily choices. And we can choose to create consciously or live on autopilot, letting habits and outer circumstances do the creating for us.
But when you choose to be a conscious creator, you leave excuses behind, and embrace your life, all of it. You know that you can steer your life in any direction you choose. For you can be, do or have anything that you can imagine. So allow yourself the answers and purpose you seek. Allow yourself to feel joy and prosperity in every area of your life. You can have this, it IS within you.
